DLT Telos Update October 2022 - May 2023

Message from DLT CEO Adam Zientarski

Greetings Telosians!

The team at Detroit Ledger Technologies (DLT, BP account: eosiodetroit) is extremely grateful for your continued confidence in us as an active top 21 block producer for the last 6 months. Despite the suppressed token prices and turbulence in the macroeconomic environment, Detroit Ledger Technologies has stayed committed to providing the high level of service that it has been known for the last five years. With the passage of TEDP , the Telos Network now has a unique opportunity to buck the trend and acquire market share in the downturn.

Competition on the network is only getting stronger, and unfortunately DLT has fallen out of the top 21 active block producers by a small amount of TLOS. I encourage community members to vote for DLT and to contact any of the larger stake holders who are not voting for DLT to ask them to do so. The DLT team appreciates your continued support and Go Telos!

Thanks,
Adam Zientarski
CEO, Detroit Ledger Technologies

Open Block Explorer Development Update (OBE)

The team created mockups for a simplified msig interface mockup aimed at making the platform more user-friendly. Additionally, mockups for a custom account name portal which includes an enhanced auction experience, more stats, and greater ease of use. Overall, the team is excited about the potential of the mockups and looks forward to further developing these features in the future to ensure a quality user experience.

In March, Adam won an EdenOnEOS Level 1 delegate position on the platform of using awarded delegate funding to improve OBE. The team has created pull requests for cleaning up the multichain UI/UX, creating a new theme for the EOS network explorer which will also serve as a default theme. The last improvement being worked on as a part of this campaign promise is to upgrade the URL routing to allow a more streamlined experience when switching between networks. By enabling other networks, there are more opportunities to gain funding through grants and worker proposal systems on other networks.

Lastly, DLT has received approval from the Antelope Coalition (EOS, Telos, WAX, and UX) to host the explorer at https://explorer.antelope.io and enable the explorers for those networks.

Pomelo Season 6 Grant - Open Block Explorer

The DLT team has submitted and been approveed for a Pomelo grant to fund further feature development on Open Block Explorer. Our future roadmap features things like:  Simplified multisig creator, custom name portal, IBC tools and UI updates, language localization (i18n), and more! The grant also opted to be a part of the new TLOS matching pool for Season 6. Please support Telos and DLT in the coming weeks by donating to the Antelope Open Block Explorer on Pomelo!

Continued Support of Telos Core Developers (TCD)

Our team remains committed to supporting Telos Core Developers, and we have been actively involved in a number of initiatives supporting the Telos Network from both an EVM and Native perspective. This includes designing the EVM wallet and conducting code review and integration testing on current developments. Our primary focus is on maintaining smooth operations and ensuring that issues are promptly identified and addressed.

Additionally, we have provided crucial support to the front-end development team through code review, testing, and mentoring, while also offering UI/UX design expertise to enhance the overall user experience. DLT and the TCD are working on extending the agreement to continue these services.

Telos Resolve (Arbitration)

We are pleased to share that the TCD has fully deployed the new Telos Resolve arbitration front-end by Kylan Hurts of Telos Crew and smart contract by DLT to app.telos.net. This is one large step towards the network governance being fully implemented.

Next, DLT will be posting a blog reviewing proposed changes to the Telos Network Arbitration Rules and Proceedings (TBNARP) and Case Class Schedule that replace set fees with a free market based approach for arbitration pay. Discussions with the Telos Foundation marketing team have begun and we anticipate that a Resolve Arbitrator Election will be announced sometime in June.

Telos RFP

Telos Request for Proposal (RFP) was recently deployed by the TCD at https://rfp.telos.net. The TCD plans on creating an RFP for community members and organizations to fulfill in the next month. This will also serve as a first mainnet test run and DLT will seek to collect feedback/bugs from users.

In the long run, DLT would like to see Telos RFP evolve as a managerial/accountability platform in which the community elects project managers who create RFPs that are bid on by companies or indiviudals to complete. Projects requesting money from Telos Works would also be required to attend check-in meetings to provide transparency and easier reporting of ROI to the Telos community. The system can also be expanded to accommodate bounties. The program managers (or manager firms) will be elected in a more continuous fashion on 6-month to 1 year intervals and successful completion of projects by both project managers and the teams that fulfill the bounty will be rewarded by an increased reputation score, which will allow access to higher value RFPs.

Vote for DLT now!

If you like how DLT has contributed to the Telos network, vote for DLT (bp account: eosiodetroit) as one of your 30 votes. Maintaining an active position allows us to continue to contribute high quality engineering talent and reliable bare-metal infrastructure for the Telos network!

Thank you and Go Telos!
